But I was putting this off, because if it won't work with my scanner it is wasted money. So current status: I have an out-of-date (32-bit) version Photoshop Elements, I know I need to buy the new 64-bit version. To scan negatives and get them into Photoshop Elements, the Epson tech rep said I would have to call either Adobe or Apple. There is no 64-bit Epson Scan or Epson Scan 2 software which will work with the old 4990 scanner. Having spoken with Epson, it seems that I did successfully download their "ICA Scanner Driver v5.8.9 for Image Capture" which (a) they say is Apple software, not Epson's, and (b) is in the Image Capture app even though it does not show a new update date.
